Stéarate de calcium - Ingrédient

Le stéarate de calcium est un sel de calcium de l’acide stéarique, un acide gras saturé à longue chaîne. Il se présente sous forme de poudre blanche et cireuse et est couramment utilisé dans les industries alimentaire et d’alimentation animale en tant qu’agent d’écoulement, lubrifiant et additif anti-agglomérant. Il est produit en faisant réagir l’acide stéarique avec de l’oxyde de calcium ou de l’hydroxyde de calcium. Dans les formulations d’aliments pour équidés, le stéarate de calcium joue un rôle fonctionnel plutôt que nutritionnel. Il est inclus en petites quantités pour éviter que les ingrédients ne s’agglomèrent, améliorer la consistance des aliments mélangés et faciliter les processus de fabrication tels que le granulage. Il ne contribue pas de manière significative à l’apport alimentaire en calcium, en matières grasses ou en énergie du cheval, et n’est pas utilisé comme source principale de nutriments.
