Dr. Thomas Jenei is a Clinical Instructor at the Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine and provides emergency coverage at the school’s Hospital for Large Animals. As such, Dr. Jenei provides after-hours coverage for equine and camelid patients. In addition, he also has a strong research and clinical interest in surgical and post-operative care of colic patients and lectures on the topic to third-year veterinary students.
Dr. Jenei was drawn to work at the Cummings School by its diverse faculty as well as the opportunity to treat horses suffering from a wide variety of illnesses, ranging from acute traumatic injuries, such as lacerations and fractures, to gastrointestinal disease. As a member of the faculty, he enjoys the opportunity to work with and train students in a clinical setting.
He grew up riding horses as a 4-H member, and his experiences competing and working with horses led him to pursue a veterinary career. Dr. Jenei is married to Sarah D’Oench, a veterinarian at the Massachusetts Equine Clinic in Uxbridge, Massachusetts, and enjoys hiking and swimming in his spare time.
