Dr. McLendon grew up in the Jacksonville area and always knew she wanted to come back. From a young age, she spent every day riding and almost every weekend competing in western performance events through the American Paint Horse Association. In high school and college, she traveled the country and competed up to an advanced level. In 2013, Taylor took a break from competing to finish her undergraduate work at the University of Florida. After completing her bachelor’s degree, she continued at UF College of Veterinary Medicine. She has known all along that she wanted to be an equine practitioner and spent her time in Vet school tailoring her education to maximize her equine knowledge base, quickly realizing she had a passion for equine lameness and sports medicine. During her time at UF’s College of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. McLendon not only graduated with high honors as Salutatorian of the Class if 2019 but also served as president of the class for four years, president of the student chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association (SAVMA) for one year, was very active with the student chapter of the American Association of Equine Practitioners (SCAAEP) as well as completing a certificate in Veterinary Business Management!
