Dr. Scott Richardson grew up in the farmlands of rural Western Kentucky. Since a child he wanted to be a veterinarian. After graduating from Auburn University, he joined the United States Army where he was an infantry soldier with the 101st Airborne Division (2/187th INF Rakkasan). Following his time in the service he enrolled at the University of Kentucky for post graduate studies in animal science. Dr. Richardson was then accepted into the College of Veterinary Medicine at Auburn University. Dr. Richardson has worked in North Georgia and Central Kentucky before settling into the Red Hills of North Florida. Dr. Richardson has an affinity for large animal medicine, especially nutritional disorders. Dr. Richardson is married to Dr. Michelle Richardson, they have a wonderful daughter, Emily, and have two dogs, (Turtle and Cara) two cats (Snuffles and Sookie). Dr. Richardson is a member of AAEP, AVMA, FVMA, and BBVMA. Dr. Richardson is a past president of the BBVMA, previously served on the FVMA Budget and Finance Committee and currently served on the FVMA Executive Committee representing the veterinarians of the Big Bend.
