Dr. King grew up on a working ranch near Coulee City, where her family raises commercial beef cattle and AQHA horses. Dr. King earned her DVM from Washington State University College of Veterinary Medicine. After graduating, she completed a rotating internship in equine surgery, medicine, and ambulatory practice at Oakridge Equine Hospital in Edmond, Oklahoma. Dr. King then returned to WSU for a year to refine her skills in diagnosis and treatment of lameness problems while performing a fellowship in equine othropedic sports medicine. During her internship and fellowship she also performed clinical research and published a study on MRI findings in 232 horses with lameness localized to the fetlock region without a radiographic diagnosis. She was chosen to present this research at the American Association of Equine Practitioners Annual Convention in San Antonio and at the WSVMA Annual Conference. Dr. King has also contributed to articles in Western Horsemen and The Horse. In her spare time, she enjoys going home to help her family on the ranch. (Source)
