Originally from Cascade, Iowa, Dr. Beck completed her undergraduate degree in biochemistry from Loras College in Dubuque. She then attended Iowa State University where she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine with distinction in 2008. Upon graduation, Dr. Beck completed a rotating internship at the Wisconsin Equine Clinic and Hospital. This gave her an opportunity to work in all aspects of equine veterinary medicine; surgery/lameness, internal medicine, reproduction, and ambulatory practice. During this time she was involved in a research study assessing a novel treatment modality for navicular syndrome; this was a great opportunity for her because she particularly enjoys podiatry. Following her internship, Dr. Beck joined Greatlakes Equine Wellness Center in Hortonville, WI where she was an ambulatory veterinarian but also managed cases on a referral basis from other veterinarians. Having worked in equine practices where chiropractic care was integrated with traditional veterinary medicine, Dr. Beck saw the advantages these treatments provided for numerous conditions. In order to offer chiropractic treatments, Dr. Beck completed rigorous training and coursework in animal chiropractic through Options for Animals. A career opportunity arose for her to move back to Eastern Iowa as a Supervisory Public Health Veterinarian for the USDA. She remained in this position until Beck Equine and Chiropractic Services was founded in 2013.
In her free time, Dr. Beck enjoys spending time with her family, outdoor activities, traveling, photography and working with her horses. (Source)
