Eric Davis DVM, a graduate of the University of California School of Veterinary Medicine, 1977. Dr. Davis worked as a farrier prior to his veterinary training and has experience in private practice, veterinary academia, specialty practice, and veterinary aid programs. He is a Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons and theAmerican College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (LA). While a faculty member at the University of Tennessee, in 1996, Dr. Davis started Remote Area Medical Veterinary Services, to provide veterinary care on Indian Reservations, rural eastern Tennessee, and northern Guatemala. From the beginning this program was very popular with veterinary students and eventually developed into RAVS (Rural Area Veterinary Services), with projects in 14 states and 6 Latin American countries, treating thousands of dogs, cats, horses, mules, donkeys, and other animals every year. Currently, Dr. Davis’s interest in spending more time working directly with students and concentrating on world equine health problems has launched his involvement in RVETS. (Source)
