Dr Scott grew up in western Washington and while working on a horse ranch she developed a taste for hard work and an admiration for horses that has guided the direction of her life. Dr Scott attended the University of Washington, graduating in 1980 with a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and chemistry. She then attended veterinary school at Washington State University where she assisted with research in metabolic and muscle changes which occur during long-distance training in endurance horses while doing her veterinary studies. Dr Scott graduated from WSU in 1984 with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine. Her early work history includes one-year positions in Salmon, Idaho and Sicily, Italy before settling in Idaho in 1987. She worked for 10 years at Intermountain Veterinary Hospital where she established her reputation in equine reproduction and camelid care. In 1997, she made the decision to become a part of Idaho Equine Hospital becoming a part owner in the practice. Her strong work ethic and caring disposition have made her a vital part of the organization. Her passions include internal medicine, neonatal care as well as equine reproduction and camelid medicine. Dr Scott is a member of the AAEP, AVMA and IVMA. Dr Scott is a world traveler and a national Ride and Tie champion (a vigorous sport which utilizes two humans and a horse combining trail running, endurance riding, and a 20-100 mile cross-country course). Dr Scott contributes to her local community in Ironside, Oregon as a volunteer fire fighter. She and her husband Bob have a cattle ranch in Ironside, Oregon and they enjoy hiking, fishing, running and riding. (Source)
