Dr. Dana Peroni graduated from Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. She worked in equine practice for several years in Michigan and also did research on upper airway disease in horses for a year at Michigan State. She and her husband, Dr. John Peroni, moved to Athens in 2000 when he was hired as a Large Animal surgeon at the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. Dr Dana Peroni opened Covered Bridge Equine in September of 2002. She likes working with horses of all disciplines, from backyard horses to miniatures and sport horses. Dr. Peroni has two horses, a retired QH named “Bourbon” and her Arabian “Macaro”. She affectionately calls him her “Ferrari” because he is so fast! Dr. Peroni enjoys trail riding with friends, walking her two dogs (Russell and Zucchini), reading, and doing yoga. The Peroni’s have 2 kids, Julia (20) and Luca (17). Dr. Peroni is certified in acupuncture (CVA) for horses and in chiropractic (for dogs and horses) and enjoys incorporating alternative therapies into practice. (Source)
