Dr. Carley Willcock grew up in Komoka, Ontario and has been in love with horses for as long as she can remember. Her grandfather bred standardbreds and was always a huge supporter in Carley’s interest in the equine world. When Carley was young, she felt helpless watching her friend’s horse fall ill and that’s where her interest for equine medicine began. She started riding at 7 years old and after completing her undergraduate degree and graduating veterinary school, Carley bought her very first pony! In 2014 Carley completed her Bachelor’s in Biochemistry at Queen’s University and went on to attend the Ontario Veterinary College, graduating in 2020. Since then she has completed an equine internship at Woodside Equine Clinic in Virginia, USA., as well as becoming certified through the College of Animal Chiropractors of Practice Veterinary Spinal Manipulation Therapy aka “animal chiropractic”. To Carley both alternative and traditional medicine are essential to assess whole body function, comfort, and performance. Away from the clinic you can find Carley spending her free time with her Brussels Griffon, Tater, and her pony Bucky as she is making the transition from hunters to eventing to unearth his dressage background.
