I decided that I wanted to be a Veterinarian at the ripe age of 10. This was an easy decision. I spent the majority of my youth working and playing on my family’s western performance horse farm in Northern Illinois. I attended the University of Illinois for my formal veterinary training. Following veterinary school, I completed a 1 year internship in Equine medicine and surgery at Texas A&M University, and then a 3 year residency in Equine Internal Medicine at the University of California – Davis. Prior to coming to Santa Barbara, I started a practice in the Chicago area. In 2000, I joined Southwest Equine Medical and Surgical Center in Scottsdale Arizona where I remain a partner. I moved to Santa Barbara and founded Mission Equine Associates in 2005.My wife Eve is a small animal veterinarian practicing at La Cumbre Animal Hospital. We have 3 children, Frannie, George and Fiona who are very active with school, riding, water polo, gymnastics and all the wonderful things that Santa Barbara has to offer. Our household is a small zoo, and we thoroughly enjoy our menagerie of horses, dogs, cats, and fish. (Source)
