In November 2012, Dr. Mandel opened Roaring Fork Animal Rehabilitation & Fitness with the goal of helping animals who had lost their ability to move normally including geriatric pets, animals recovering from surgery, and pets with neurological conditions. Dr Mandel accepts referrals from all small animal veterinarians in the Roaring Fork Valley and Western Colorado. Services include Acupuncture, Assisi Loop(R), Fitness, Hydrotherapy, Light Amplification by Simulated Emission of Radiation (LASER), Neuromuscular Electrical Stimulation, Rehabilitation, and Therapeutic Ultrasound.
Fitness is an important component for healthy animals. Dr Mandel prescribes individualized exercises to build strength, endurance, and motor control for patients of all fitness levels; including injured or de-conditioned animals.
Early in her career, while studying veterinary medicine at Colorado State University, Dr Mandel developed interests in pain management, wound healing, and neurology. After graduation she pursued these interests by becoming certified in Veterinary Acupuncture in 2010, certified as a Canine Rehabilitation Therapist in 2012, and most recently certified in Equine Rehabilitation in 2015.
